About Me
The Face Behind The Camera
Hi! My name is Katherine! I am 29 and live in Galston with my partner Dave.
When I'm not taking pictures you can probably find me with a pair of running shoes on! I love to go running in my spare time and frequently take part in fun runs to raise money for charities. If not, then I'm usually in a cafe eating my bodyweight in food! I call it a healthy balance!
I started photography back in 2013 (wow!) and got my HND in photography in 2016. Once I had qualified, I took a year out to figure things out. At the time I could not drive and I needed a massive upgrade on equipment. I just simply could not afford to take my career forward at that time.
I unfortunately sold all my equipment and went back to studying and took a whole different career path!
I got my HNC in Childcare and I am now currently an Early Years Practitioner.
It was only in 2024 this year where I sat down and thought "What the heck am I doing?!" I guess it was the fear of the unknown? Being quite comfortable in my job? I haven't been around a camera in a while...
But I decided to take a massive leap of faith and try again! Being in a full time job allowed me to learn how to drive, get a car and save up for the equipment I could not afford back then. And I know if I do not do this now I will seriously regret it!
One thing I love about photography is that there is no language barrier. Your photos capture a moment frozen in time forever, which is so beautiful. Especially when it comes to people in love. One thing I was passionate about whilst studying photography was shooting my first wedding. I loved capuring the raw emotion of a very special moment. And I want to continue that with my work.
My focus in photography will be weddings, engagement/couple shoots as well as family/children shoots on location. I am also taking bookings for pet photography and cars as well.
